After a brief introduction by William Germain, a presentation will be delivered by William Kilmer, followed by a Q&A with the audience. Book Overview: In Transformative, William Kilmer explains how the most successful companies build massive opportunities for themselves by creating new markets they can win. They do it by innovating customer outcomes to deliver category-creating solutions, alter industry dynamics, and build new capabilities. Then, they employ an innovation-growth strategy to attract new customers, scale, and build more profitable markets they can win. Rapidly evolving technology landscape, lower barriers to entry, faster, more agile, and well-resourced startups, and the trend towards crossing over industry boundaries in the pursuit of better customer experiences have combined to create hyper-competitive industries. In this discussion, William Kilmer will present a framework for developing a challenge-setting organization that wins through agility, clock speed, and setting the right strategic priorities. He’ll discuss the techniques to keep your company in “Day 1” mode by continually defining new challenges and setting organizational priorities to overcome them and win. William Kilmer is a technology entrepreneur, investor, and innovation strategist who has founded, invested in, and advised hundreds of companies around the world. He is currently a senior advisor at Gallos Tech, a platform for investing in and co-building companies in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and digital enterprise. He was previously the managing director of C5 Capital and has been founder and CEO of several technology companies in the US and UK. Kilmer was formerly European managing director of Intel Capital, the world’s leading corporate venture investor. He is a graduate of Binghamton University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and holds master’s degrees from Brigham Young University and Warwick University. William Kilmer is a frequent speaker and advisor on the topics of innovation, strategy, and organizational culture and teaches and mentors at startup accelerators in several countries. He holds several patents for computer networking and cybersecurity and is the author of two books, including his latest, Transformative: Build a Game-changing Strategy, Retool Your Organization, and Innovate to Win, published in September 2022.
