ECLIPSING THE WEST

We are delighted to invite you to an exclusive evening with Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable as he discusses his latest book, Eclipsing the West: China, India and the Forging of a New World.
As the global center of gravity shifts East, Sir Vince—former Secretary of State for Business and Leader of the Liberal Democrats—will provide an in-depth analysis of the economic and geopolitical forces reshaping our lives. Drawing from his unique vantage point in both British politics and global economics, he will explore the rise of China and India and what it means for the future of the international order.

About the Speaker
Sir Vince Cable served as the UK Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, and Skills (2010–2015) and led the Liberal Democrat Party from 2017 to 2019. With a career spanning roles as Chief Economist at Shell and Head of International Economics at Chatham House, he is one of the UK’s most respected voices on global trade and finance.
He currently holds professorships at the LSE, Nottingham, and Shenzhen universities, and serves as a Distinguished Fellow at ODI Global. Sir Vince is a prolific author, with works including The Storm, The Chinese Conundrum, and his newest release, Eclipsing the West.

The Programme
