Trends In Angel Investing by WomenA Panel Discussion with Prominent Female Angels and Entrepreneurs
co-sponsored by Addidi Join women alumni for a panel and networking event focused on angel investing by women, featuring four females at the forefront of early stage funding. According to a recent study commissioned by UK Business Angels Association, women represent just 14% of angel investors in the UK (slightly below the US at 20%), despite the number of self-employed women in the UK and US growing faster than the number of men. And according to a 2009 Boston College Center on Wealth and Philanthropy, women will inherit 70% of money that gets passed down over the next two generations, excluding the amount they are earning on their own. So what is stopping women from investing? The discussion will touch on what women are doing to change the angel investor landscape and promote female entrepreneurship. It will also address trends in angel investing generally including what are hot areas to invest in, how to get access to good deals, what is a super angel and more about what it takes to be successful.
