WHAT IS THE ROLE OF DATA IN THE NET ZERO TRANSITION

Join us on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 at the Institute of Directors, London for an evening focused on the role of data in achieving a net-zero future. This event will feature a conversation with two leading experts in sustainability and environmental impact: Lance Uggla, Founder of BeyondNetZero and Daniel Pacthod, Global Co-Leader of McKinsey Sustainability. They will be discussing the importance of data in developing practical solutions to address the climate change.
 
Lance Uggla founded Markit in 2003 after spotting an opportunity to bring transparency to the credit default swap market. He is the former CEO of the merger between IHS and Markit, IHS Markit, a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions for major industries and markets. In February 2022, he sold IHS Markit to S&P Global for $44 billion. He is now co-founder and CEO of BeyondNetZero, General Atlantic’s first climate growth equity fund focused on providing data-driven solutions for the net-zero transition. With over 30 years of work experience in data and analytics, he is passionate about using data and innovation to address the global challenges of climate change, sustainability and social impact.
 
Daniel Pacthod is the Global Co-Leader of McKinsey Sustainability, where he helps lead organisations decarbonise, transform their core businesses, hyperscale new climate technologies and build capabilities to win in the energy transition. He advises companies in the aerospace, defence, industrial and technology sectors on how to innovate and transform in pursuit of a more secure, affordable, clean and inclusive future. He also co-leads McKinsey’s partnerships with the World Economic Forum, and previously built and led the firm’s Aerospace & Defense and Industrial Practices in the Americas. He is passionate about raising the ambition of leaders across the private, public and philanthropic sectors when it comes to accelerating the energy transition.
